Oilers-Lightning preview.

So. 16 games to go and the once mighty Oil are 13 points out of a playoff position.
Sure sucks to have all your hope gone this early into the stretch drive.
Usually it comes down to game 81 out of the 82 game schedule for the Oilers to sew up a playoff position or be out of it. Game 67 tomorrow night, and well, it just doesn't feel right.
Even with the excitment of the past weekend and becoming a master autograph seeker, my heart just isn't in it anymore.
I still love the Oilers and my boys, but what have we got left to cheer for?

The only thought keeping me excited for tomorrow's game is the fact that Vicent Lecavalier is the NHL leading goal scorer with 43 goals and is tied for 2nd overall in points with his Lightning teammate Martin St. Louis with 89. It will be bittersweet to watch those two (along with Brad Richards) dance around the mostly rookie Oilers line-up and light up Roloson.
The Lightning did lose 5-1 in Vancouver tonight, but who's kidding who? The Oilers don't really stand a chance. Not like it make much difference, unless they magically win all remaining 16 games. HA.

Reasoner's injury is questionable, Hemsky had his arm in a sling on Sunday (his shoulder injured AGAIN), Nedved (as useless as he has been) is back on the IR Stoll is still out, so on..........

Back to the drawing board folks. Lowe has his work cut out for him this (very long) off-season.

Tomorrow night's game is on at 8 pm on TSN for anyone still interested.

My standing-room only tickets are going to be fabulous.
