Tuesday, April 10

So winning on Saturday night dropped us out of the draft lottery. Bah.

The Chicago Blackhawks will pick first in the 2007 NHL entry draft.

The Hawks moved from fifth to first in Tuesday's draft lottery to determine the order of selection for the first 14 selection. The lottery was held behind closed doors at the league offices. The Philadelphia Flyers will go second, the Phoenix Coyotes third, Los Angeles Kings fourth, Washington Capitals fifth and Edmonton Oilers sixth.

Given the Oilers draft record of late, even if they were to pick 1st overall, the scouts would find a way to screw it up.

The Oilers will also have two later 1st round picks, courtesy of the Smyth trade and Pronger trade; depending on where their two teams finish in the playoffs.
