MacT is a smart man. Sometimes.

Quotes from an article in the Edmonton Sun today.

"You can always make the mistake in this business of thinking it can't get worse, and it always does when you think that," said head coach Craig MacTavish, whose club has one win in its last 14 games, and would rather not see that string of futility extended to one-for-20.

"We have to come out and practise hard and play hard, otherwise it's going to be two weeks of hell. It's already going to be bad enough without making it worse."

"I'm glad we're done at home," he admitted. "We're getting a little healthier and that will improve our game immensely, but at the same time, those fans couldn't keep that type of (positive) momentum much longer, I don't think."

-------------------------------------

Some of us fans gave up on the positive momentum already, myself included.
A few wins on the road to end the season would be nice, but really, it doesn't matter much.
One last GOILERS! for old times sake though!

--------------------

One of my friends asked me who I was going to cheer for this post-season; because, let's be honest, no one wants the hockey season to be over in April; but I really didn't have a definite answer for that one.

I used to be a Red Wings fan, but after Yzerman retired and Shanahan signed with the Rangers last summer, I realized my loyalties were with those two players, and not the whole team. (Much like some Oilers "fans" wearing Ryan Smyth Islanders jerseys. Eww.)

As much as I love Martin Broduer; which is almost as much as I love the Oilers; I can't really bring myself to cheer for the Devils. Marty has 3 Cups already, so time for someone else to win!

Of course I cheer for the other Cdn teams not named the Flames, Leafs, and Canucks; but Montreal might not even make the post-season, and Ottawa is famous for choking. Here's hoping both Eastern Cdn teams do well.

My friend being a HUGE Eric Lindros fan (I dare you to find another person more in love with Lindros than Lindros is with himself) so he's trying to convert me into a (ACK!) Dallas Stars fan come April 10th. As a long time Oilers fan, that would be a very tall order; almost as bad as asking me to cheer for the Canucks. :/ Which I refuse to do. Ever.

He makes a very valid point:
I still can't believe you sold that Modano jersey, that's such a classic.
Then again you can replace it with a Stars Lindros with a Stanley Cup Finals patch on it.... and I'll marry you for it.

What girl could resist that offer?!?!? GO STARS!

Aha, for real? The Stars?

Personally, I'm cheering for San Jose. And not because a boy is saying he'll marry me for it ;)

Of course I know he is joking around, but you damn well know that if the Stars do win the Cup I will be buying that jersey and showing up at his doorstep wearing it waiting for my marriage proposal. :P NO LIE.
What a story that would be for the grandkids, ahahahaha!

I really haven't decided who to cheer for in the playoffs; I just may watch a few games in round one and go with one of the winners.
I have to root for my Marty, and the Lightning might not even make it, Montreal is always a team I cheer for come April, and well, the Sharks are looking good too.
Plus, I have to at least pay attention to what the Stars are doing. ;)
